Orewa Beach is a diner’s mecca, with a great selection of Thai, Italian, Indian and European cuisine. Orewa Beach is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch or dinner – no matter what your taste, style or budget. For a taste of Europe you can sample delicious Devonshire teas at Walnut Cottage. Try the O’pes Cador Restaurant which is a Mediterranean restaurant specialising in fish and seafood. Down a couple at Muldoon’s Irish Bar or stay late at The Pioneer Bar in the Nautilus for a great end to a night’s feasting. Latest café’s are Hollywood Bakery and Expresso and the Farmhouse Café which is under new management. Orewa also caters to the Asian palate. Try Thailand’s fiery curries and Tom Yum soup at Thai Orewa, and papadums and chapattis washed down with yoghurt at the Wishing Well of Indian Restaurant. Asahi Japanese Restaurant is a great place for a family dinner, as is the Ship and Anchor Restaurant. We also have other family restaurants such as McDonald’s. And if you want a stress-free Christmas day why not book in for a beachside Christmas lunch at Kaizen Cafe – great value at $50pp for a two course Christmas lunch. Eating Out Orewa is great for a quiet dinner out of Auckland and a stroll on the beach afterwards.  Where is Orewa? Orewa is just 20 north of Auckland. Take the motorway north and get off at the Silverdale junction, turn right onto State Highway 1 for about 5 km and you'll reach Orewa. Swim the Beach Take to the water Orewa Beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand. Sometimes the sea murmurs, and sometimes it roars. You see kids building sandcastles as high as themselves, and a lone fisherman dreaming of Marlin. Walk up to the lookout above the beach in the morning and see the sunlight break over the waves and cliffs.
