Help patients and their families prepare for
death in a way that is satisfactory for the patient and family

Provide a palliative care service that is
culturally appropriate and is based on need
The Hospice provides a
free home-based palliative care service to the terminally ill in our
community.
Dying is an integral and inevitable part of life, and quality
palliative care helps to enable people to die with dignity and in a
setting of their choosing.

People’s needs vary widely as death
approaches, but commonly include the need to understand what is
happening, resolve issues with family and friends, achieve a sense of
completion emotionally and spiritually, and come to terms with
significant life changes.
Palliative Care can
support this process by relieving pain and other distressing symptoms,
addressing practical problems, and providing appropriate
psychological, social, and spiritual support.
Relieving the patient of anxiety can often positively influence the
course of the illness.
The Hospice's focus in on the individual and not their illness.
Heletranz airport service, provides
a 12 min air transport from Albany to Auckland Airport at any
time for Rodney and North Shore people. Cost $365 for one
person or $220 if you are one of a party of four travellers.
