Hibiscus
Rodders Car Show
More than 300 cars and
bikes attended the Hibiscus Rodders Car Show held on
January 30 at Orewa Beach. It was an extremely
successful day and organisers were very pleased with
the turnout of both vehicles and spectators.
People’s choice went to a bright yellow 1957
Chevrolet Belair and the lucky owner received a
prize pack worth around $700.
The colouring competition winners were: Ethan
Mohring, Erica McDonalds and Emily Stringer who each
won a prize of a ride in a Hot Rod as well as a
complementary meal at McDonald’s Orewa.
Sponsors of this event included McDonalds Orewa, New
World Orewa, Fulton Hogan, Destination Orewa Beach,
Rodney Times, TimesFM 89.9 and 97.8 and The Sign
Post.

Orewa College marks 50
years with reunion in 2006
Plans are well under way for the
2006 Labour Day Weekend 50th reunion with stacks of archive
files to be sorted for the event. The 40th reunion saw about
500 people attend and a far greater number are expected at
next year's event.
