The opening of Manzvault men’s gift and clothing store
in Hillary Square was a lively affair with musicians and
Harley Davidsons drawing a big crowd.
Manzvault owner Marianne
Schroder says she started as she means to go on, acting
not only as an ambassador for Hillary Square but also
providing solutions for those notoriously
hard-to-buy-for men.
Marianne, who moved to the
Coast from Taupo last year, has worked in retail all her
life, and says sourcing unique, practical and stylish
items for Manzvault is challenging and fun. She also
called on male friends for advice as she selected items
including clothing, clever gadgets, décor options and
accessories for the store.
Marianne says men prefer
items which not only look good, but are also practical.
With this in mind Manzvault has a range of outback
clothing from Australia, caps with solar lights under
the peak, nautical inspired accessories, cufflinks that
double as thermometers and a device that magnifies the
front of cellphones. Perfect for “the man cave” are
replica weapons, poker sets, coal carvings and avariety
of metal puzzles.
Marianne fitted out the shop
with a sense of fun – right down to the leather look
wallpaper in the man-sized fitting room.
