Orewa New World Santa Parade 2009
‘Dress in costume and participate in the Parade’
The Orewa New World Santa Parade has become the
Hibiscus Coasts leading community event and the only
Santa Parade in both the Hibiscus Coast and
Warkworth areas. Spectator numbers have increased
annually, with the 2008 parade attracting
approximately 3000 people and 115 commercial and
non-commercial floats.
Take
this opportunity to dress in costume and participate
in the Parade, and help turn every child’s fantasy
into reality!
The Orewa New World Santa Parade simply would not
happen if it wasn’t for the passionate people who
give so freely of their time and energy year after
year.
Wearing a Costume at the Parade
We are presently seeking adults and children (aged 6
years plus) who are interested in wearing a costume
in this year’s parade. Costumes come in both group
categories and/or as individually themed costumes.
All costumes are professionally made by the Auckland
Farmers Santa Parade.
Children aged less than 6 years must be accompanied
by an adult, these costumes are limited due to their
availability.
The Parade will take place on Saturday 21st
November, starting at 12.30pm and finishing
approximately at 2.00pm.
It is very important that each individual completes
the attached form, providing their personal contact
details, age and standard clothing size.
Forms must be signed by either parent or guardian if
participant is under 15 years of age.

A FLOAT IN THIS YEARS PARADE
– NO ENTRY FEE
The Orewa New World Santa Parade has become the
Hibiscus Coasts leading community event and the only
Santa Parade in both the Hibiscus Coast and
Warkworth areas. Spectator numbers have increased
annually, with the 2008 parade attracting
approximately 3000 people and 115 commercial and
non-commercial floats. The Orewa New World Santa
Parade is the largest parade in the Rodney District.
This community event offers fantastic exposure to
both commercial and non-commercial team and school
floats. We write to invite you to be part of this
year’s festivity and join in the community spirit
for this Festive Season.
This years Santa Parade will take place on
Saturday 21st November, starting
at 12:30pm.
The categories for Best Float – will be judged
prior to the parade, during assembly time. The
prize giving will take place in Bakehouse Lane
after the parade.
We will kick start the parade with the Food
Drive fundraiser which was extremely successful
last year, thanks to the help and support of the
Orewa Baptist Church.
Please download, read and complete the details on the attached
form by the 19th October 2008. Either
post or fax completed form to confirm your float
entry in this year’s parade.
Final parade details and parade float number will be
sent upon receipt of your entry, closer to the
event.
